3 things people think are true about cybersecurity, but actually aren't.

#1: We've never experienced a cyber attack. So we must be doing everything right.

Well, congrats to you, you're quickly becoming the exception, not the rule.

If you haven't done a security risk assessment in the last 12 months to identify your current vulnerabilities, then you are most certainly not doing everything right.

#2: We have a third-party security provider who secures everything and keeps us safe.

It doesn't matter how good your provider is, you have a legal and ethical responsibility to secure your own data.

Ask your provider to show you the reports of what is being done.

And if you haven't already, work with them to define the security roles, responsibilities, and action plans for how to handle a breach.

#3: Security is the sole responsibility of the IT department.

This couldn't be more wrong.

And in fact, this false belief is the reason why a lot of organizations are getting hacked today.

If leadership does not believe in living a security culture, the organization is highly vulnerable.

If you believe your business is accepting any of these responses and could be at RISK of a cyber-attack, contact our team to get the RIGHT advice.
